WELCOME TO
PONTA CALMA
Holiday homes surrounded by the sea
On the island of São Nicolau, secluded and far from the tourist crowds – indeed, at the end of the world – lies the unspoilt fishing village of Carriçal with its small bay of black lava sand.
Opposite the village, on the other side of the bay, lies Ponta Calma, home to two cosy holiday homes offering plenty of privacy and breathtaking panoramic views of sunrises and sunsets.
Spending the winter in peace and nature
The ideal place for true, deep relaxation, to unwind, observe nature (dolphins, whales and turtles can be spotted from the terraces) and to go on walks along the coast to volcanoes and hidden coves, as well as for snorkelling, angling, fishing and boat trips with locals.
Ponta Calma is ideal for spending the winter – for example, for artists, authors, musicians and anyone seeking peace and seclusion in nature.
The village of Carriçal
At the end of the world, yet accessible
Carriçal, situated in the south-east of the island of São Nicolau, is one of the most original fishing villages in Cape Verde.
In Carriçal, a place that remains unspoilt, it feels as though time stood still a long time ago.
The small village, with just under 200 inhabitants, is powered by solar energy; there are a few small shops, bars and a school, as well as an abandoned tuna factory.
The Peninsula
Peace and relaxation
The Ponta Calma estate is situated on a small peninsula, separated from the village by the bay, and offers a wonderful sense of tranquillity.
It can only be reached on foot via the beach.
Thanks to its unique location, you can enjoy both sunrises and sunsets from here.
The holiday homes
Surrounded by the sea
Two small holiday homes, each with a fully equipped kitchen, are situated on the Ponta Calma peninsula.
As the two houses are set well apart and each has its own terrace, you’ll have plenty of privacy.
